International Faculty and Staff Services is currently reviewing the announcement in detail to fully understand the changes and how they impact members of our international community. IFSS will follow up with additional communications directly to those affected as soon as we have a fuller understanding of the information released and how it will be implemented in practice.
We encourage members of our international community to review the proclamation and consider any upcoming international travel if their home country is listed. The decision to travel outside the U.S. is a personal decision. Under the current circumstances, travel should be seriously reconsidered by those whose country of record is named in the proclamation.
We understand this announcement is distressing and creates anxiety for all members of our international community. We want to emphasize that you are welcome and wanted here at the University of Wisconsin. Our diverse and talented international population is part of what makes our university great. IFSS will continue to do our best to communicate, advocate, and support all members of our international community as we navigate these changes. Additional details will be updated on the Resources on Immigration Issues page.
